The Far Shore History
- Arrived in July of 2016 (in-game) as the goddess Gegute from Lithuanian mythos. The first major event that happened to Elfnein was everyone suddenly swapping ages, she found herself in the adult form of Carol and was really confused by everything. Maria (fellow canonmate) had been in game longer and showed Elfnein the ropes.
- Late July she tried to do prayers with her Shinki, Ram and Ken that involved taking care of stray animals. Shortly after the two of them went missing from the heavens leaving Elfnein alone without anyone.
- By August she was becoming friends with Hibiki (Pripara) and expressed interest in joining Hibiki's talent agency. Though Elfnein was more concerned over not being able to do anything since she had an issue of keeping Shinki around.
- The rest of the year was spent with more Shinki not sticking around, leaving her to question if it was something on her end or just how things were in the Heavens. Tsubasa and Chris (canonmates) had joined the Heavens as fellow gods, which allowed Elfnein to provide support to them like back home. Along with this she met Romeo who would become her Shinki and not vanish on her.
- Elfnein kept at it with Romeo and the two quickly started gaining followers and the temple grew. They also adopted a cat that Elfnein named Carol. Along with gaining some robots that Elfnein had made back home. (Start of 2017 in-game)
- Debuted on stage thanks to Hibiki, it was a pri-fect time. Also helped with movie production as an actor and stage hand.
- Befriend Zetta and worked to make him a team player... even though it was a long shot.
Personality:
Elfnein, known as scrap material #11 was created by Carol to work on the Chateau de Tiffauges. Implanted with only the memories Carol wished to discard or thought would be useful as backup along with the knowledge of the needed skills to work on the chateau. Even as a clone Elfnein retained the parts of Carol that she left behind in order to keep living, taking them as her own will and personality and not just as Carol’s memories but as part of her own self and as someone to help Carol. As she worked under Carol’s orders thinking the chateau would be used for the good of seeing their father’s dream come true it was a lie and she was thrown out after finding out; as she was worthless knowing the truth behind what was going on and wouldn’t willingly work on it then.
Wanting to fix the wrong Carol was doing using her own means Elfnein actively sought out people that could help stop what would happen. Providing any help she could, along with any sort of support mentally to members of S.O.N.G that took her in after hearing her situation. They took her in without locking her up, questioning her actions or anything of that nature along with treating her like a normal human and not just a thrown away clone. She was extremely happy with how things went since even though she knew a lot about the outside world from the knowledge implanted in her, had not truly experienced it. During the trip to “train” at the beach Elfnein learned that putting things in to practice yourself even with the knowledge is a hard task. It was only due to Maria encouraging her and saying that strength isn’t just always in fighting but in being able to admit weakness that she finally opened up more. Allowing herself to have fun and act like a normal child instead of a tool used to create destruction. Something she hadn’t been able to experience before and wanted to do more of in order to improve and grow.
Even when Carol revealed that she was viewing and hearing everything Elfnein was doing, that she wanted to be locked away so no one could be hurt due to her. That instead of her own life, other people’s wellbeing were more important and that if she needed to be killed to stop Carol that it would be necessary to take action. Which wasn’t something she wanted to do, but others suffering due to her mistakes was something she couldn’t handle or want to see. Everyone ended up only encouraging her saying it wasn’t her fault and that she was valued and they would stand behind her. Bringing her to tears and seeing that the emotions of others need to be taken into account and not just being thrown away if you’re the problem in the machine.
Overall, Elfnein has a very good sense of right and wrong and wants to show that the world isn’t a place of hate. That there is a lot to see and learn from others and that memories aren’t something that can just be forgotten. Even if she’s a bit shy and can’t fight back with strength there are other ways to help people you care about, which is why she takes her back up role very seriously.
CRAU developments:
Most of the developments in TFS related to Elfnein are grounded in Elfnein learning to be her own person and not just a clone body given their own being. Which reflected on how she saw herself as a god and why she had issues with gaining followers and a lasting shinki. Along with being able to stand on her own merit and not be a burden to people. Which ended up being reflected in how much more fighting and support she did after Romeo became her shinki.
In short, she grew as a person and was able to be a child for once and learn about the world outside of a lab. Along with work with Romeo even though it was dangerous for them to fight by themselves.
Key themes:
Being able to grow from a past that is misunderstood
Main Motivation:
Trying to find the other them that is locked within her memories even if it takes awhile to do so.
Skills:
Elfnein cannot use memory fueled alchemy but can still use alchemy based in materials and technology. i.e using relic fragments and other modern equipment to create the IGNITE system.
Due to memory diving into her own memory storage she can summon the Faust robe used by Carol, Dur da Blá.
In The Far Shore, Elfnein was given the power of Projected Thermography – Allowing the use of writing without tools, burning characters into the air or other surfaces. No need to search for a pen ever again!
